About Our Restaurant
Red River Steakhouse, Since 1997
Red River Steakhouse opened in McLean, Texas, in 1997, in a building put up by Gabe Parson, the man who created K-Bob’s back in the ’60s. Our owner, Will Frost, started there as the busboy. Over the years he cooked, waited tables and ran catering, learning the restaurant from the floor up.
In 2006, Will bought the McLean restaurant. In 2015 he opened a second Red River in Amarillo, at 4332 SW 45th Ave. A fire closed the Amarillo restaurant in March 2016; we rebuilt it and reopened that fall.
Today both locations serve the same hand-cut steaks, chicken-fried steak and complimentary cobbler. McLean still sits on historic Route 66, a stop for travelers and locals alike, and Amarillo brings that same small-town hospitality to the city.
Two locations. One family-run steakhouse. Welcome to Red River.
